College Summit Uses Curriculum and Data to Encourage Higher Education

An investment management expert and philanthropist, Arthur (Art) J. Samberg has grown several financial firms and supported numerous charitable organizations throughout his career. Art Samberg is especially dedicated to supporting higher education and contributes to nonprofit organizations like College Summit.

College Summit helps high school students with low-income backgrounds pursue a college education and career through a curriculum- and data-based approach. Specific to 9th- through 12th-graders, the custom curriculum is designed to help students finance and plan their futures. The program introduces students to a variety of career choices, the best educational options for pursuing those professions, and the range of financial aid opportunities. In students’ senior year, the program ensures that they submit their college applications and financial aid paperwork.

To further facilitate student success, College Summit gives teachers access to data showing how many students are applying for college and to which institutions. College Summit then collaborates with teachers and administrators to develop action plans using this data.
