Art Samberg, a notable philanthropist and Wall Street veteran, has always made time to give back to the community. In addition to making three generous donations to the Columbia Business School, Arthur J. Samberg has served on the board of directors for a variety of organizations, including the Jacob Burns Film Center.
The Jacob Burns Film Center was established with the goal of helping disseminate the best independent and documentary films from around the world and offering a unique cinematic experience to enrich the community. The institution not only features a technologically advanced theater and expansive media arts lab, but it also has living quarters for international filmmakers who visit and work at the Center.
In 2013, two Lebanese filmmakers were invited to become the center’s 14th and 15th international fellows. George Tarabay and Elias Khalilwill resided at the Center from April 16 through May 18, while working on their film project, called “The Changing Map of Lebanon.”
